But Expeditors International in Washington, code EXPD, falls into this pattern, although it actually maintains a good performance.

One of the things I've learned is that when you have a group of stocks, and all but one of them are struggling, it indicates a problem that needs attention. This chart is very similar to the MPC chart; it is very similar to some of the energy conversion stocks, unlike the shipping and transportation companies that I can show.

So, in general, I see that a strong chart gets stronger, and that's a strong indicator. I wanted to include this chart because it shows a downward divergence in momentum.

Therefore, I consider the graph showing this downward divergence a negative indicator until proven guilty. Therefore, I say as long as the trend remains positive, it is an excellent chart.

But this weaker momentum prompts me to monitor support levels closely. We actually test the 21-day exponential moving average several times during September. For now, I will remain composed.

If it is broken, the 50-day moving average held up at the end of July, which was an important buying point. So, we'll see if it holds up. If it fails, then I will begin to acknowledge that the direction has changed.
