looking at Eli Lilly today, which got an upgrade, Diane. It did. It did. So, Berenberg moving off the sidelines on Eli Lilly. They're injecting it with an upgrade here, up to a buy from a hold.
They've set a new price target of 1,400. That's up from 1,220. That signals more than 20% upside.
You are seeing shares move higher, even in a market that's, you know, kind of trying to make heads or tails of where we sit, and waiting for the Fed's decision on rates. The view from Berenberg is Eli Lilly can maintain its leadership in the obesity drug market.
It's been an outperformer compared to Novo, formerly known as Novo Nordisk.
Berenberg says Eli Lilly has strong returns on the research spending. They've got a solid track record in their view of turning drug development into pipeline products.
One of those products it sees potentially adding to the, you know, kind of constructive view here is, as a potential catalyst, would be an oral GLP-1. Put plainly, a pill, essentially.
So, they see that as the next potential opportunity in this space.
Eli Lilly has been doing well with both Zepbound and Mounjaro, which are the leading brands in obesity and diabetes treatment. They point out that demand is accelerating there, and they think that demand there will help Eli Lilly outperform its annual guidance, its 2026 full-year guidance.
And they talk about essentially the pipeline for Eli Lilly, and they and they point out that a pill could obviously certainly be more appealing for patients who are not interested in injectable.
Every single name in health care here is higher. It's hard to find I mean United Health, AbbVie, Medtronic, it's all across. Merck, Johnson & Johnson, Eli Lilly. So a lot of winners.
