How about we're looking at MongoDB? That's an interesting one. >> Yeah, this is another one. This is a tricky one. George Solless said be careful of this one off the back of earnings because it can be tricky and expectations were elevated going into its results.
So, you're seeing a sharp sell off here. We're down more than 12%.
Uh even though second quarter revenue jumped 30% year-over-year, uh it jumped to 771.8 million. That was actually better than expected. But again, expectations were high coming into these results.
Earnings per share coming in at buck 90 on an adjusted basis. Also better than expected.
But here's the sticking point. There were going to be a lot of eyes on this metric Atlas. Now Atlas revenue increased 29% year-over-year. But the growth rate, you know, a lot of this is about how fast are we growing.
What's the expectation for growth? Even though we're growing, are we looking for more than that? Investors hoping that growth would reach around 30%. At least 30%. Some were looking for even more than that.
So it's a closely watched metric here and it did not hit the mark in terms of that 29%. Now some people would say 29% growth you'd be happy for but not in this case here.
It just gives a window into customer cloud adoption and usage here. Um what application development looks like. So Atlas was the point that investors wanted to see more on. So you're seeing share sell off as a result.
It's interesting how prudent they said they're being prudent with the guidance and so I can't wait to have this conversation in the next quarter. Let's see how prudent or you know they really were. They're just being a little cautious there.
