$MSFT

MSFT technicals are bullish; strong trend and buyer support above 21-day EMA make it a top chart among growth names.

So, we'll start with the name that probably we're all familiar with, Microsoft. And I think the chart of Microsoft is an important one to watch, not just for the individual stock, even though I would say out of the sort of magnificent seven or what my viewers have asked me to uh to start calling Dave's dirty dozen, I think that was a great uh great idea of uh of 12 key uh stocks and ETFs to track in the growth space.

And then Microsoft and Microsoft is an interesting one because we had this great gap above the 200 day moving average. Um this was actually in their July earnings release. Had a couple big days and then another gap higher.

And then this pullback right here is what's uh a really I think uh interesting uh component to the chart.

But at some point, we're going to have a pullback and we finally got that pullback in Microsoft the second week in July. And I would say the chart of Microsoft there when you ask those questions is where things become even more uh encouraging.

We pulled back very quickly for about a week. We remained above the upward sloping 21-day EMA.

We did remain above an upward sloping 21-day EMA. We then saw buyers come in right around 480 and we can see we've now round roundt tripped and then as of Friday we actually got to a new closing high getting above that peak from the second week in um in August.

So overall I would think this pattern of higher highs, higher lows and the fact that buyers came in above the 21-day EMA to push the price higher kind of checks the boxes from a technical perspective.

We're overbought right now which again on the surface is not a huge deal. All right. Ideally, in an uptrend, we get overbought on those rallies. That's kind of important. What's more important to me is how deep we pull back when we have that drop.

And if you look, the RSI didn't give it even get below 60 on that pullback second third week in uh in August.

So, I would say strong trend, moving averages going the right way, momentum pretty strong, and the relative performance has been fantastic for the last two months. So, Microsoft, I would say one of the best charts out of that Magnificent Seven or what I call the Dave's Dirty Dozen bucket of leading growth names.

I don't think you're going to find a better one than Microsoft right about now. So, I think that's a key one to watch.

And remember, this is a software name. Now, obviously, Microsoft is a cloud bet. It's an AI bet. I mean, there's all sorts of things you're doing when you're, you know, uh, adding Microsoft to your portfolio. It's bucketed under the software group.

First up here is Microsoft. Here's that gap up on earnings. The stock pulled back rather orderly, but more recently it has been on the move higher. So, we have a nice base breakout coming out of a 2-month base. The company is very involved in cybersecurity software. Their Azure product does produce 20 billion in security-related revenues for the company. So, this is a participation rally in the move earnings-related move into software stocks. And again, we did see this nice base breakout today. Very decent volume. We have a positive RSI. Now, if we can get that black line up through the red on the MACD, that would give more conviction to the current uptrend taking place in Microsoft.
