$MU

Micron is in a sideways consolidation with no clear direction; the sector is weak, but the fundamental story remains intact and the stock has a buy signal.

So Missouo busy this morning across the memory space with an eye on Micron Sandis Applied Materials and Lamb Research. Now it is maintaining outperform ratings across the board which is the equivalent of a buy rating for Micron.

They've lowered the price target to 1300 from 1375 for Sandis. They've lowered it to 1875 from 1900 for AAT down to 590 from 650.

They've lowered the price target to 1300 from 1375 for Sandis. They've lowered it to 1875 from 1900 for AAT down to 590 from 650.

Micron has a buy signal. Fear and greed in the sector, however, not looking all that great. More sell signals are coming through. Less uptrends, more downtrend. So, the sector is not looking all that great.

this is a sleepy stock right here. I don't know where it's going to go. It just doesn't have the momentum behind it, right? The market's not really that helpful. The uh the sector is definitely not that helpful.

It's just not a great place to be in my opinion.

Well, it went up a long time. And I know there were outliers who rolled and rolled and rolled on this. Uh, but after a long runup like that, a lot of times there's consolidation.

So, it kind of feels like that's where it's at now. It really needs some more momentum behind it. It needs some more volume behind it in order to get out of consolidation.

Yeah, I remember these two signals right here. It went up something like 120%, something nuts like like fake guru type of nuts right here. And then it had a sell signal, then a buy right after, and then went up another like 12% after that point.

And then it basically went flat to sideways right here. And it's really been going flat to sideways for a while.

So, stage one is a sideways consolidation. Stage two is a big beautiful uptrend that everybody feels like a genius in a bull market. Stage three is moving averages crossovers, which is exactly where we are today.

I can tell you direction with absolute certainty, but I can't tell you duration nor magnitude. Right? I couldn't tell you that when this crossed over here that it was going to go up a,000% or whatever it did.

Something crazy. Went from roughly $400 to roughly $1,200, right? 300% gain right there.

if we're looking at today, it's just it's just a boring stock right now. It's a bore fest. I agree. That's what I think of Micron. Uh so memory remains a key bottleneck. Uh so they see that the fundamental story is still intact but quote watch the price that you pay here.

Memory of course don't matter to the AI story and that's the view from Mizuo. AI chips don't work alone. uh the GPUs, the uh AI chips need enormous amounts of memory to store and access data here.

Um so again, this is less a story about um a downtrend in terms of memory, but just what investors are willing to pay, right? They're u the price target shifts are primarily about multiple compression here, Nicole.

You're not eating Micron chips.
