So, I will use Netflix. I chose Netflix because it's my favorite, I'll go into more detail about Netflix towards the end of today's presentation, but for now I'll show you this example to illustrate what a spread is.
I do have some examples like SoFi and Netflix that I would like to discuss. The next business is Netflix, who have been in the market for a long time, but for every $1 in revenue they can keep 28 cents.
And compared to the $1 they earned a year ago, they are now earning $1.13. So, they are increasing their revenue and also increasing their profit margin per dollar. That's great, isn't it? However, Netflix has gone down a lot.
People are upset because the truth is, going from $1 to $1.13, or 13% growth, is not much to investors. So, they are not very happy with Netflix.
Here is an example of a real put option on Netflix. I have used October 23rd as an example here. I thought Netflix was pretty cheap.
So, I'm looking at a 65 put option for October 23rd, and the premium is pretty good. I mean, it's not much of a premium, but the thing is, I'd be happy to get the assignment.
So, if I get a Netflix assignment at 65, that would be awesome. I'm literally getting paid to own a share that I want to buy myself.
