Dol。
What do you feel about Duolingo? That's going to be ticker, I believe. Yeah. Dol. So, here's the interesting thing. We've talked a lot about the whole SAS apocalypse thing and how that's not going to happen. What I'll say is I suspect that these language learning companies are actually going to take a hit from some of the AI thing. And it looks like Duolingo probably already did this. The stock is down from like 500 to a low here of sub 100. It's making a nice move back here.
But Brandon, here's my problem. What's the bull case for this? I don't know the answer to that. I I don't use the product, so forgive me, but I don't know what the answer is to this to uh the what the bull case is for Dolingo 13. Do you have anything on this one?
seems like they do have a pretty interesting short squeeze idea here. Uh, 20% of the float is shorted almost 5 days to cover that. They could be just one good headline away from a squeeze and they've got a golden cross that's uh, happening I think today.
there there could be a case for some some upside here. I, you know, not going to say that this thing is going to turn around and get back up to 500 where it was, but it looks like there's some, you know, indicators that, uh, that's starting to tell us that this is in in a bit of a recovery. I think that 165 is going to be a big uh, resistance area. Uh, 160 165. I think that $5 range right there could be tough. Um, but I I don't have a big opinion beyond that. It looks like it's trying to turn around.
Okay. Yeah, that's good stuff there that you came up with. The golden cross is interesting. This does this is above the 200. Maybe this is trying to go higher. Brandon, I'm sorry. I perhaps I just don't understand the bullcase here, but that's what makes a market. So, that's not the end of the world either. But, uh, good stuff with this.
One more thing to to do a lingo. It's, you know, it's it's great that we have these apps that can we can use to to translate and talk to each other, uh, you know, back and forth, but I feel like at some point we're going to get lost in translation with doing it that way. And the the best way to talk to each other is just to learn the language. I I think that there's going to be a case where that's going to matter more than just having an app or a device where you can, you know, hear what somebody's saying, but in order to to say it back to them, you have to speak into your phone or give them your earbuds. I feel like it's it's there's still a bunch of nuance than to just learn the language.
the privacy guy is saying Dolingo is a language learning app, not a real-time translation. Yes. So, just to be clear, perhaps I didn't do a good job of this. I think 13 is outlining that actually learning the language is probably better long term than just simply relying on a translation app. That's my read through.
It's a it's a bullcase for Duolingo is what I'm I'm talking about. And what Ryan's referring to is the things that, you know, like Google and other uh companies that make devices that translate for you. Uh that, you know, I I I can see great uses for it. They're, you know, they're being used right now, but I also see uh how it we're moving away from just the things that have worked in the past. And Duolingo kind of brings us back into the things that have worked. I think it's just better to learn the language and just talk to each other instead of relying on technology to do it for you.
