Copart is a long-term play on the trend of consumers shifting to older vehicles for easier/cheaper repairs; currently holding a position but acknowledging the theme is early.

Copart is the next stock on our list. The ticker is CPRT and it rose 7.28% after posting mixed fourth quarter fiscal 2026 results after Thursday's closing bell and announced it will acquire online vehicle auction operator ACV Auctions.
This is ACVA getting acquired by your Copart if I'm not mistaken. But uh definitely Copart reported earnings. Did you want to take a look at Copart by the way? Did you kind of want to I know we've talked about that as a potential play here. Be happy to cover that.
Copart, of course, reported earnings yesterday. Stock is up 6.5 gez 6.54%. Now this was after trying to get above the 200 and being rejected. So now we're back here 32 bucks. 200's at 3434.
So, this is a u a company that, you know, has a online uh auction for vehicles, established vehicles. And um one of the themes that I've uh been discussing recently that because I think this is something that's going to eventually happen is you're going to want uh you're going to see consumers buying older cars uh because uh well, for several reasons. one, but and this is where I've been coming from with this.
U newer cars are not being are not built very well and they're built in a way that are very difficult to repair. They are um expensive uh to ensure and they are expensive to fix uh because of how uh they're built.
So, you know, this is something you hear from mechanics a lot with these new cars. say, you know, you'd have to uh remove certain components to get to the one you're trying to fix.
Uh there labor costs are much higher for some of these newer vehicles because of uh that exact thing. Um and then there's also this concern that um vehicles are going to be able to be remotely disabled uh because of uh new requirements uh that are I don't know if this has actually become law or not or if this is just being trying to get pushed through but uh they want to you know be able to uh disable your vehicle if for some reason you are you know on the run or in a car chase and I think that's uh uh resonating with a lot of people and u they want to uh you know not be a part of any of that.
So, they're going to be looking towards older cars. And I think uh this is where we're ultimately headed. We're probably still early in this uh theme, but um I think you're going to start to see a uh a demand for older vehicles uh because they are easier to repair.
They cost less to repair and they're uh cheaper to insure and cheaper to finance because a lot of that premium that they had uh when they were originally built is more or less gone.
So, that's uh that's the reason why I like Copart. I have a position in this. Um was thinking about uh adding but here we are right back above my uh my cost basis again. So just want to see where this uh this goes.
But apparently we have uh a couple of price targets. Uh Baird thinks it's worth 38. Bington Research believes it's worth 40. So u I'm here for that. I I believe that it could be worth a lot more if uh this theme develops further.
But like I said, we're probably still a little bit early.
Copart coming in after that report and acquisition.
