“Copart Stock (CPRT): Is Copart now a Buy?”

Pass on CPRT now; valuation is fair/not cheap given slowing growth and AV uncertainty, but attractive for long-term holding later.

About 10 months ago, we covered Copart and it's one of the most quoted examples for a quality compounder, which is a borrowing business with high margins, high returns on capital, and operating in a duopoly.

A duopoly that it dominated for the longest time.

And with that said, their competitor is gaining market share, which is weighing on the stock. But I love that management has been super proactive about buying back shares again.

They clearly think the stock is trading at a bargain price. The last time they bought back meaningful amounts of share was more than a decade ago.

Copart is a long-term play on the trend of consumers shifting to older vehicles for easier/cheaper repairs; currently holding a position but acknowledging the theme is early.

Copart is the next stock on our list. The ticker is CPRT and it rose 7.28% after posting mixed fourth quarter fiscal 2026 results after Thursday's closing bell and announced it will acquire online vehicle auction operator ACV Auctions.

This is ACVA getting acquired by your Copart if I'm not mistaken. But uh definitely Copart reported earnings. Did you want to take a look at Copart by the way? Did you kind of want to I know we've talked about that as a potential play here. Be happy to cover that.

Speaker is buying CPRT based on valuation and belief in the theme.

Um, I liked Copart because I thought that was really, you know, cheap and um, I still believe in the theme. So, I already started picking up Copart. Haven't looked at that uh, today.

Uh, that's down at 32. So, we're still kind of, you know, going sideways here with this one. But, uh, even even with this one, a recapture of that 200 day SMA would be huge. So, I think that's and they have earnings tomorrow. So, we'll see what we get out of that.
