Walmart's new delivery partnership with Papa John's is a smart play to increase basket size and app engagement via existing Spark Driver network.

Think Target, Walmart, Amazon would be the first to feel the sugar high bump even though nothing about their underlying earnings changed.

So Walmart is adding Papa John's to its delivery lineup. Its third partnership after Subway and Duncan, and it's first with a chain not already inside of the Walmart stores. Orders run through Walmart's existing Spark Driver network, promising 30 minutes or less delivery, with 90% of Americans living within 10 miles of a Walmart.

The number that matters is 65% of restaurant orders already include other Walmart items, meaning the food delivery play is really a Trojan horse to grow basket size and app engagement directly encroaching on Door Dash and Uber's territories.

$WMTBearish
WMT is a sell due to overvaluation following a strong runup.

And here's Walmart was classically correlating with earnings all these years. got overvalued and even during this period of time if you look the company did outperform its earnings but that was a period of overvaluation then we've had this strong runup and now we've have this correction looking to happen so this would be a sale in my portfolio if I owned it now

Walmart's earnings reaction was overdone; technicals suggest a bottoming process with a likely bounce if price breaks above 107.

I'm looking forward to this last one that you brought today Mike. You've got Walmart here came under some pressure with its earnings despite a lack of consensus about whether or not they were strong.

There seems to be a great divide there. We are seeing Walmart under some pressure even though it has a 52% increase in in US marketplace sales in fiscal 27. So, how are you approaching Walmart right now? And what are your expectations going forward?

WMT is attractive for the holiday season, particularly on a correction, driven by grocery and trade-down trends.

The next stock on our list is going to be Walmart, ticker WT, and it was up just 0.049% higher as it agreed to pay 50 million to settle a Department of Justice lawsuit alleging its pharmacies unlawfully filled opioid prescriptions fueling the national opioid epidemic.

Walmart,

Brandon says Walmart. I love Walmart, too. I think if we get a correction here, I think for the holiday season, I think Walmart makes a lot of sense. Grocery uh uh a tradeown for for some retail items. I like Walmart. Be on my list as well.

“Grocery Stores Just Issued a Warning About the American Consumer”
$WMTNo side taken
Walmart's aggressive price cuts and use of tariff refunds to lower prices indicate a loss of pricing power and a pressured consumer, but also a deliberate strategy to protect volume and gain market share.

Walmart is lowering prices on more than 11,000 products.

And Walmart's a big one. A good place to start for the retail sector, especially we're talking about food and groceries, because they recently said, "Look, in response to the weakest sales figures we've seen in six years out of Walmart, they're cutting the prices on 11,000 items, which is double the number that they normally do.

The lowest cost retailer is lowering costs on double the number of stuff that it normally does." That tells you everything you know about this inflationary scenario. I mean, just think about what that means.

The largest retailer in the US is not behaving as if it can freely pass every additional cost on to its customers. It is investing aggressively in lowering prices to protect sales volume and to gain market share from those who can't follow along.

WMT is not a buy due to high valuation (37 forward P/E), despite strong underlying earnings quality.

there's a stock and this stock is named Walmart. Now, I don't personally own Walmart stock, but it was interesting because yesterday it was all in the news. Walmart stock tumbles 9%.

Biggest downward move in years. All these sorts of things, right? Just a lot of negativity around this particular stock.
