we'll kick things off and move on to Apple. Start of the week at 311. Shares climbed by nearly 2.7% this week nearly $320. company announced their upcoming event to announce the iPhone that is coming in just a couple of weeks on September 9th. Actually, next week I guess that is. It is widely expected the company will show off potentially a new foldable phone, but this will actually be a showcase of the new CEO John Turnis will get his chance to leave his first stamp on the company.

Now, the company also unveiled two new computer devices that were highly anticipated, including the Mac Mini and a Mac Studio. inside of the Mac Mini, which is the smaller desktop computer that only comes as a desktop computer. You don't get a monitor or I don't even think you get a keyboard inside of the device. It also unveils a new M6 chip, which is a new version of the M series chip. What is interesting though is the more expensive chip is actually the previous version where they actually sandwich two two of these chips together and create a pro chip. So, the M5 Pro is a new version using the old chip that has higher specs. The M6 is a new chip and is quote unquote cheaper. I say quote unquote cheaper because this is far more expensive than the previous Mac Mini, which came out about 12 months ago. That was several hundred cheaper. Obviously, component prices, more specifically, memory driving that.

You also get the Mac Studio, which a lot of people say, "Hey, you can run local AI on this Mac Studio." And the truth is you can. But what we are finding is as the models get more and more capable. Yeah, you can run some local AI on a Mac Studio that you're going to pay at least $5 to10,000, maybe upwards of $20,000 for, but is it going to beat your $200 or even your $100 max plan that you have with Anthropic or one of these other AI providers? I don't think so. If you're willing to spend $10 to $15,000 on a computer, you're not trying to run some mediocre AI model. Maybe some people are, but it's a tiny speck of the market. At the end of the day, this is an absolutely beast of a computer. And there is a use case for it, and I honestly wish I had the thousands of dollars in order to buy one.

Now, company is reducing its vision pro team as they're going to shift more focus to smart glasses. At the end of the day, the Vision Pro was an absolute flop. But if it ushers in another product, then it could be looked back upon as a success as I do believe smart glasses, while Apple again not going to be first to the market with them, could end up creating a best-inclass product.

Now, the company taking its turn to increase its monthly prices on Apple TV, going from $12.99 up to $14.99, an annual plan now $119, up from just $99 as primarily content costs, but really probably the sports events are causing these companies to continue to charge more.

Apple just chilling right before it announces its iPhone. It's sitting on some of its shorter term moving averages. I think a move lower creates good buying opportunities.
